About the Role

We're seeking a dynamic Director of Engineering to lead and expand our engineering team during this exciting growth phase. This role offers a unique opportunity to shape the technical vision and direction of our company.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Build and nurture a first-class engineering team, addressing any gaps as we scale.
  • Foster a supportive, collaborative, and high-performance culture.
  • Establish and track metrics for quality and velocity, managing risks, dependencies, and trade-offs to champion engineering and operational excellence.
  • Set the technical vision and software architecture, offering strong technical leadership and guidance while mentoring a high-velocity engineering team.
  • Work closely with product managers, designers, data scientists, and marketers to rapidly innovate and execute on company priorities.
  • Attract, engage, and retain top-tier engineering talent. Build diverse, inclusive teams and help team members grow through coaching, mentorship, and direct feedback.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you'll need:

  • 10+ years in software engineering, with significant experience in leading and expanding engineering teams during periods of high growth.
  • Deep knowledge of modern software development practices, architecture, and infrastructure, with a background in building and scaling complex, high-availability systems.
  • Able to drive technical strategy and make informed decisions that balance immediate needs with future goals.
  • Proven track record in attracting, hiring, and nurturing top engineering talent, with several years in people-management roles.
  • Excellence in tackling and resolving complex technical issues, ensuring smooth and efficient project delivery.
  • Skill in working across various teams to deliver high-quality products.
What We Offer

We offer a competitive salary range of $250,000 - $350,000 per year, based on experience, plus benefits and equity opportunities.
