Job DescriptionRole Summary

As a Senior Automotive Die Designer at Magna International, you will be responsible for creating die layouts and designs, translating design intent into required manufacturing processes to complete automotive stamping tools.

You will create/modify surfaces using morphing and/or surfacing tools on CAD systems, determine machining processes, define areas of dies to be machined, and provide technical support to FEA teams, program management, tooling, and sales departments throughout the die manufacturing process.

You will maintain documentation records of complete die programs, prepare reports, communicate all required information to appropriate parties, and perform other reasonable duties as assigned.

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you must have a completion of degree or certificate program in Technical/Mechanical Engineering Program or equivalent. You should have knowledge of automotive sheet metal stamping, full working knowledge of die-surfacing using Catia, and experience in reverse engineering from scan meshes (STL data) considered an asset.

You should have good communication skills, interpersonal and organizational skills, ability to interpret blueprints or die process & solid designs, and ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
