Job Summary
As an Automotive Engineer at our company, you will be responsible for developing technologies, systems, and concepts that make vehicles safer and cleaner. Your goal will be to serve our communities, the planet, and most importantly, people.

Your key responsibilities will include ensuring projects are delivered on time and meet all Cosma standards, customer-specific standards, and customer requirements. You will validate current projects through Quality Gates reviews and provide feedback to vendors for corrective actions.

You will also perform preliminary spring-back studies to understand overall dimensional risk, measuring fixture concept, and spring back compensation planning. Additionally, you will analyze Sigma (Robustness) studies for performance and effect on each part, drive the Engineering review process to ensure deliverables are met with quality and on time, and hold vendors accountable.

Furthermore, you will perform functional die planning review for hard-touch, pad/post clearance for part nesting and other relevant details for successful release for 3D cut data. You will lead correlation activities or initiatives for the improvement of formability, cosmetic, and dimensional results, prepare cost savings opportunities in the Engineering phase, and prepare engineering change request.

Required skills and qualifications include an engineering degree or 10 years in automotive stamping with Class A closure panels. You should have knowledge of sheet metal formability, material properties of various sheet metal, and how to interpret GD&T and its relation to processing/development/springback compensation.

Expert knowledge of running stamping formability simulation using one or more of the following software is also required: Strong CAD software knowledge and NX is an asset.
