Artificial Intelligence Specialist for Image Analysis

We are seeking a highly skilled Artificial Intelligence Specialist to join our team at the National Research Council (NRC). The successful candidate will play a key role in developing and implementing computer vision algorithms for automated image analysis.
Estimated Salary: $110,000 - $140,000 per yearAbout the RoleAs an Artificial Intelligence Specialist on the Integrated Omics and Climate Resilience Team, you will work closely with our researchers to design, develop, and implement software solutions for crop image analysis. Your responsibilities will include contributing to the development of large language models for genomic analyses and elevating gene and allele discovery.
RequirementsTo be considered for this position, applicants must demonstrate significant experience in computer vision approaches, including algorithm and code development for image analysis. A strong background in programming languages such as Python and C++ is essential. Experience working with biological images, transfer learning techniques, federated learning approaches, and deep learning libraries like TensorFlow or PyTorch is also highly desirable.
- Master's Science in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field;
- Bachelor of Science with 2+ years of experience in the development of computer vision and machine learning algorithms;
- Significant experience in applying neural networks (CNNs, RNNs, VAEs, and/or GANs) for computer vision;
- Experience with computational geometry, 3D representations, and data structures;
- Knowledge of traditional computer-vision-related tasks, including pre-processing, segmentation, object detection, and classification.
