Job Summary:

The Heavy Duty Truck/Tractor Technician will work in conjunction with the Service Coordinator, Tractor Technician/Mechanics, Trailer Technician/Mechanics and Apprentices to complete preventative maintenance and repairs on the Bison fleet in a timely and efficient manner by diagnosing problems found during inspections prescribing the correct remedial action.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on tractors and trailers
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues
  • Work with the Service Coordinator to prioritize and schedule repairs
  • Collaborate with other technicians and apprentices to complete tasks
  • Provide excellent customer service to drivers
  • Support and encourage apprentices throughout their apprenticeship
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices

Requirements:

  • A Red Seal Heavy-Duty Truck/Tractor Technician certification
  • Experience working on tractors and trailers as a Heavy Equipment Technician/Mechanic
  • Demonstrated diagnosing and time-management abilities
  • Previous experience and qualification to perform Safeties
  • Ability to work unsupervised
  • Valid BC Driver's License
