About the Opportunity:

This role is based in Ottawa, Ontario, within Abbott's Point of Care, Diagnostics division. The team empowers smarter medical and economic decision making to help transform healthcare at all stages of life.

The Point of Care diagnostic portfolio spans key health and therapeutic areas, including Chemistry, Electrolytes, Hematology, Blood Gases, Coagulation, Endocrinology, Cardiac Markers, Neurology, and Informatics.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Ensure a stable supply of components to manufacturing operations.
  2. Conduct root cause analysis on non-conforming components through the Corrective Action process.
  3. Collaborate with external suppliers to prevent interruptions in component supply.

The primary focus is on manufacturing sustenance, with some project work assigned. Involvement in investigations and documentation of findings and disposition decisions in the Corrective Action system is required. CAPA certification is necessary for this role.

You will be responsible for:

  • Post-repair qualification of molding steel.
  • Working with suppliers and the quality organization on partial repair reports and completion of post-repair activities.
  • Acting as event owner for non-conformance reports within the Corrective Action quality system.
  • Performing miscellaneous duties as needed.

Requirements:

  1. An undergraduate university degree (4-year program) or equivalent experience in Engineering, Science, or Math with a specialty in Statistics or Biostatistics.
  2. Up to 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment is considered an asset.

Necessary Skills:

  • MS Office, SAS JMP, Minitab, or equivalent statistical software.

Desirable Knowledge:

  • CAPA system.
  • Product verification.
  • Current Good Manufacturing Practice 21 CFR Part 820.

The estimated salary for this role is approximately $60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience.
