Nurse Oncologist

At PHSA, we are seeking a skilled Nurse Oncologist to join our team. As a key member of our cancer care team, you will be responsible for providing holistic nursing care to oncology patients. Your expertise will be essential in assessing, intervening, and managing symptoms, as well as coordinating treatment and administering medications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct patient care to oncology patients, including assessment, review of patient and family history, and development of a nursing care plan.
  • Collaborate with patients, family, and multidisciplinary team members to develop a treatment/care plan and modify it as needed.
  • Administer medications, injections, blood products, and IV fluids as required by the care plan.
  • Maintain patient records by collecting and documenting patient information and health care history.
  • Admit, transfer, or discharge patients according to BC Cancer policies and Centre directives.

Requirements:

  • Graduation from an approved School of Nursing with current practicing registration as an RN with the British Columbia College of Nurses & Midwives (BCCNM).
  • One (1) year of recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
