The Bartender is responsible for delivering exceptional and quality food and beverage service in the casino. The ideal candidate will be collaborative, excel at multi-tasking, and display exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional service to guests, promoting food and beverage offerings and ensuring a positive experience.
  • Manage financial transactions accurately and efficiently.
  • Communicate potential issues or concerns regarding responsible beverage service.
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with guests, ownership, employees, vendors, and regulators.
  • Ensure compliance with licensing laws, health and safety regulations, and other statutory requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or directed.

Requirements

  • Embody the Casino Nova Scotia culture and philosophy, demonstrating a playful, infectious, and guest-focused attitude.
  • Minimum Grade 12 or equivalent is required.
  • Cash handling experience is essential.
  • One-year bartending experience in a bar or pub setting is required.
  • Point of sale experience is necessary.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods, lift, and perform heavy lifting is required.
  • Proven strong sales and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize and multitask.
  • Effective communication skills to promote responsible beverage service and recognize signs of intoxication.
  • Satisfactory attendance and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Pleasant, positive, self-motivated individual with excellent multitasking skills.
  • Neat, clean, and professional appearance is essential.

Work Environment Considerations

  • Regular casino, restaurant, or bar environment, with exposure to noise, odors, and non-traditional work hours.
