Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Automotive Technician to join our team at Peace River Boat & Auto Repair Ltd. as a Commercial Transport Truck Mechanic. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing routine maintenance and repairs on commercial transport trucks, as well as diagnosing and fixing complex mechanical issues.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on commercial transport trucks, including oil changes, tire rotations, and brake pad replacements.
  • Diagnose and fix complex mechanical issues using advanced diagnostic tools and techniques.
  • Inspect and test mechanical units to locate faults and malfunctions.
  • Adjust, repair or replace parts and components of commercial transport truck systems, including engines, transmissions, and electrical systems.
  • Test and adjust repaired systems to manufacturer's specifications.
  • Perform scheduled maintenance service to ensure vehicles are running efficiently and safely.
  • Advise customers on work performed and future repair requirements.
  • Complete reports to record problems and work performed.
Requirements
  • Automotive Service Technician Trade Certification or equivalent experience.
  • 5 years or more of experience in the field of commercial transport truck mechanics.
  • Valid driver's licence and a clean driving record.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Working Conditions
  • Work site environment is dusty and noisy.
  • Standing for extended periods is required.
  • Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination are necessary.
