Job OverviewThe Director of Finance is a key member of Taurus's leadership team, responsible for driving financial strategy, compliance, and corporate development initiatives. The ideal candidate excels in financial modelling, debt financing, and mergers and acquisitions (M&A) within a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
- Capital Strategy & Financing: Collaborate with the CEO to structure and secure debt and equity financing, optimizing the company's capital strategy.
- Financial Modelling & Forecasting: Lead corporate financial modelling, including annual budgets, forecasts, and scenario analysis, providing actionable insights for decision-making.
- Accounting & Compliance: Oversee financial systems and processes to ensure compliance with IFRS and regulatory standards across jurisdictions.
- Corporate Development: Support M&A activities, including due diligence and integration planning.
- Reporting & Analysis: Deliver accurate, timely financial reports with in-depth variance analysis and recommendations to optimize performance.
- Internal Controls: Develop and maintain robust internal controls over financial reporting, cash flow, and foreign currency management.
- Tax & Risk Management: Ensure efficient tax structures, compliance with corporate and sales tax filings, and manage insurance procurement aligned with risk management objectives.
- 10+ years of experience in Corporate Accounting and Financial Leadership
- CPA designation
- Proven experience in financial modelling, debt financing, and M&A.
- Demonstrated ability to lead financial strategy and collaborate cross-functionally at a senior level.
- Experience with corporate forecasting, budgeting, and internal control development.
Estimated Salary: $120,000 - $150,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience. Located in downtown Vancouver.
