The Opportunity

As a Youth Justice Worker at Springboard, you will play a critical role in helping young people navigate the youth justice system. Working in collaboration with our YCAPP team, you will develop action plans to support individuals in achieving their immediate and medium-term goals, while connecting them to needed community-based resources.

This position requires a strong understanding of the Youth Criminal Justice Act (YCJA) and its application of Extrajudicial Measures (EJM) and Extrajudicial Sanctions (EJS). You will work with diverse populations, applying a culturally responsive lens to all interactions, including program implementation and capacity-building with young people.

Responsibilities

  1. Develop and administer creative community-based interventions responding to individual strengths and needs
  2. Assess and review client referrals, providing services to address risk, barriers, and protective factors of vulnerable youth
  3. Communicate and explain criminal justice processes with clients, including court process, alternative measures, and community service orders
  4. Maintain centralized case management systems to track progress of high-volume caseloads
