We envision a future where every young person in the GTA has access to safe, supportive housing. As part of our Gaining Ground Stable Housing Strategy, we are seeking an individual to pioneer and implement a new initiative that mobilizes the Christian community to host youth in need.

**Job Description**

The successful candidate will work closely with our team to launch this initiative, coordinating tasks such as recruiting and training host families, scheduling, administration, and financial oversight. They will also facilitate resolution of issues arising during an Open Door stay and support YU staff navigating the Open Door initiative with their youth.

**Key Responsibilities**

  • Pioneer and cast vision for Youth Unlimited's new Open Door housing initiative
  • Coordinate the recruiting, mobilizing, training and care for Christian host families
  • Coordinate operational tasks for Open Door including scheduling, administration and financial oversight
  • Facilitate resolution of issues arising during an Open Door stay
  • Support YU staff navigating the Open Door initiative with their youth
  • Navigate and develop partnerships with local churches and community organizations
  • Participate as member of Youth Unlimited's Stable Housing Council
  • Shape and implement Open Door vision and policy guidelines
  • Report to Council on progress and status of Open Door initiative

**Requirements**

  • Pursue a vital spiritual life and growing relationship with God as a devoted follower of Jesus Christ
  • Be a faithful and contributing member of a local church
  • A deep commitment to a holistic approach of proclaiming the good news of Jesus Christ and God's Kingdom
  • Experience in community/church engagement and working with youth is an asset
  • Related experience, education or training regarding housing is an asset
  • Class G driver's license & available vehicle
  • Available for occasional evening/after-hours support to YU staff and host families

**Position Information**

This is a full-time position requiring a minimum of 30 hours/week. The salary scale is based on education and experience, and the role requires fundraising and gathering a personal support team.
