As a key member of our team at Aspira Peninsula Retirement Living, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional dining experiences for our residents. We are seeking a Dining Room Server to join our food and beverage department.

About the Role:

This is a permanent part-time position with an estimated 45 hours bi-weekly schedule. You will be responsible for all aspects of hospitality-style dining service, ensuring that every resident feels welcome and well cared for.

  • You will assist with the preparation and presentation of food under the direction of our Executive Chef;
  • Practice and maintain established standards for cleanliness and sanitation throughout all aspects of food preparation and service;
  • Promote and track a la carte and wine service sales in accordance with prescribed procedures;
  • Comply with all provincial regulations, established food and beverage department policies and procedures, and ORCA standards to ensure the department is tour-ready;
What You'll Be Doing:

Reporting to the Executive Chef, the Dining Room Server will be accountable for supporting all aspects of hospitality-style dining room service to meet the needs of our residents. Key responsibilities include:

  • Responsible for all aspects of hospitality-style dining service utilizing the Ready, Set, Serve Program as it applies to the serving areas, setting, serving, and cleaning tables;
  • Assists with the preparation and presentation of food under the direction of the Chef;
  • Practices and maintains established standards for cleanliness and sanitation throughout all aspects of food preparation and service as required by the health department;
  • Promotes and tracks a la carte and wine service sales in accordance with prescribed procedures;
  • Complies with all provincial regulations, established food and beverage department policies and procedures, and ORCA standards to ensure the department is tour-ready;
  • Participates in drills to prepare for emergencies and attends all education sessions in relation to emergency preparedness;
  • Works in accordance with the organization's Health and Safety Policies and Procedures and in compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Must have the Smart Serve designation (or willing to obtain within 30 days) and one year experience in dining room service;
