Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Assistant Operations Manager to join our team at GardaWorld. As a key member of our operations team, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Operational Manager and overseeing the efficient operation of security services in alignment with the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA).

Key Responsibilities
  • Management Support: Provide management support to the Operational Manager and mentor Shift Supervisors to ensure the smooth operation of security services.
  • Scheduling and Invoicing: Ensure scheduling and invoicing accuracy and work with CBSA to resolve any discrepancies.
  • Issue Resolution: Promptly address any scheduling discrepancies and identify, document, and resolve issues and submit paperwork to the attention of the CBSA and Project Authority.
  • Contractor Resource Management: Assist in ensuring that all Contractor resources submitted as part of the complement meet the requirements and provide Contractor resource orientation.
  • Quality Control: Conduct supervisory visits to all IHC posts on a daily basis and conduct supervisory visits, as part of regular duties or at the request of the CBSA, offsite to ensure compliance with POSOPs.
  • Training and Development: Provide support, assistance, and ongoing training to Shift Supervisors and implement problem-solving methods and recommend possible solutions to improve the delivery of security services.
  • Leadership: Fill in for the Operational Manager and perform the tasks of the Operational Manager, as required, and immediately perform and apply corrective action when there is an obvious service delivery performance issue with Shift Supervisors and guards.
Requirements
  • Experience: A minimum of 2 years' management experience in a field directly related to law enforcement (Canadian Armed Forces, Royal Canadian Mounted Police, CBSA, Correctional Services Canada, Police Force etc.) or 2 years of experience specifically working on a Security Guard contract with the CBSA at an IHC or providing care and control of CBSA individuals.
  • Skills: Strong communication skills, strong organizational and priority setting skills to ensure goals are met, ability to coach, mentor, and develop onsite personnel, proven ability to prioritize, multitask in a fast-paced environment with problem-solving skills, organizational, and analytical skills to deal with competing priorities.
