About the Role

PML Professional Mechanical Ltd. is seeking a skilled Mechanical Estimator to join our team. As a Mechanical Estimator, you will play a crucial role in preparing estimates of labour and/or material costs for our mechanical construction projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare detailed estimates of labour and material costs for mechanical construction projects
  • Develop pre-qualification submissions to present to clients
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine work requirements
  • Prepare estimates for general expenses and overheads
  • Provide economic feasibility studies and preliminary estimates for proposed projects
  • Project cash flow and financing requirements
  • Create and submit estimate reports, quote sheets, and bid forms
  • Utilize quantity take-off procedures
  • Advise on tendering procedures
  • Analyze tenders and recommend awards
  • Set up cost monitoring and reporting systems
  • Monitor and adjust contract expenditures
  • Prepare and maintain a directory of supplies and trade contractors
  • Liaise with engineers, architects, owners, contractors, and subcontractors on changes and adjustments to cost estimates
Requirements
  • 3 years to less than 5 years of experience in mechanical construction
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Proficiency in MS Project, MS Excel, MS Word, and MS PowerPoint
