The Purchaser will be responsible for purchasing manufacturing components and materials based on inventory level, target, and demand.
Key responsibilities include:
- Continuously sourcing and pricing components globally
- Coordinating with customs and freight forwarders to ensure on-time in full shipping and reasonable pricing
- Collaborating with the IBC warehouse team to reconcile inbound/outbound deliveries
- Assisting in the MRP evaluation process and monitoring inventory level
- Collaborating with manufacturing quality and suppliers to improve material and component quality
- Coordinating with AP to reconcile supplier invoices
- Collaborating with the Rheem global sourcing community to introduce best practices and new secondary suppliers
- Collaborating with suppliers and vendors to ensure on-time in full delivery, product availability, and quality standards are met
- Coordinating with custom brokers to prepare documentation required for port clearance
- Creating POs and tracking them through the in-transit process
The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Commerce, Science, or a related field, preferably with a concentration in Supply Chain Management.
Possessing SCMP designation, CPIM, and CSCP certifications is an asset.
3+ years of experience working as a purchasing clerk or procurement specialist is required, with previous experience sourcing and buying for a manufacturing environment, working with freight forwarders and customs brokers, and working with MRP-driven ERP.
The Purchaser will be responsible for administering all aspects of the purchasing process, analyzing complex data sets, and providing solutions to issues identified in data trends.
Working knowledge of process mapping and flowcharts, as well as a process-driven mindset, is essential.
The ideal candidate will be able to develop and maintain rapport with stakeholders of all levels and communicate concisely and clearly through both written and verbal means.
