Toronto, Ontario, Canada AutoTrader Full time
Job Title: Junior Android Engineer

What We're Working On:
At AutoTrader, we're building a cutting-edge Trader design system, a component library that leverages the latest technologies like Jetpack Compose to empower our teams to work faster and at a higher quality bar. We're driving new features from end-to-end through prototyping, validation, implementation, launch, and continuous iteration. Our goal is to craft a modern user experience for browsing and selling vehicles via the Trader apps. We're also building the technical foundation for future features and experiences.

What We're Looking For:
We're seeking an expert in Kotlin with 1 or more years of experience in Android development. You should have a deep understanding of modern architectural and modular design patterns like MVVM. You'll be working in a constrained environment, building data-intensive, highly responsive, and fault-tolerant apps. Strong communication skills are essential, as you'll be collaborating with a distributed team and facilitating discussions with diverse stakeholders. An inquisitive mind that's not afraid to speak up is a must.

Responsibilities:
You'll collaborate with our distributed team to deliver a high-quality mobile-first experience through architecture reviews and team-based planning processes. You'll partner with product, design, and engineering teams to innovate and implement sophisticated solutions to complex challenges. You'll champion code quality and stability by driving pull request feedback sessions, test creation, and continuous integration advancements. You'll also continuously improve your technical and non-technical skillset and help the team do the same.

What's in It for You:
We understand that there's life at work and life outside of work. Here are some benefits that support us to be our creative best:

Fitness and Wellness:
We provide discounts to nation-wide gyms, onsite gyms (when we're in the office), an Employee and Family Assistance Program, as well as a virtual wellness program.

Benefits from Day 1:
Gym discounts, local in-office free gyms, Employee and Family Assistance program, weekly virtual wellness events, in addition to in-house training, we provide an annual lifestyle allowance of $1500 so you can grow your skills. We also offer conferences & training budget and regular internal training programs.

Financial Planning:
We'll help you invest in your future with 3% matching towards your pension and multiple forms of income protection. We also offer an annual bonus structure and 3% CPP matching.
