Job Summary:

The successful candidate will work collaboratively with educators, parents, and other professionals to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) that cater to the unique needs of each student. You will provide direct occupational therapy services, conduct assessments, and monitor student progress to ensure the best possible outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify students' needs and develop targeted intervention plans
  • Provide direct occupational therapy services to students in individual and group settings, adapting to their unique needs and abilities
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to develop and implement IEPs, ensuring a cohesive and supportive learning environment
  • Monitor and document student progress, adjusting interventions as necessary to ensure optimal results
  • Develop and implement strategies to support students' occupational performance, including education and training for school staff and parents
  • Participate in team meetings, professional development, and other school activities to stay up-to-date with best practices and industry developments
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards in all professional activities
Requirements:
  • Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program
  • Current state licensure as an Occupational Therapist
  • Experience working with children in a school setting, with a strong understanding of IEP processes and special education laws
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
Desired Qualifications:
  • Certification in Pediatric Occupational Therapy
  • Experience with sensory integration therapy and knowledge of assistive technology and adaptive equipment
  • Ability to think creatively and develop innovative solutions to support students' occupational performance
