Job Summary:

Fraser Health is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Team Lead to join our team. As a Clinical Team Lead, you will be responsible for providing leadership and clinical support to an interdisciplinary team, coordinating and supervising clinical and administrative staff, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality client care services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and coordinate client care by consulting with clinical staff and direct care staff to prioritize care and determine appropriate assignment of staff resources.
  • Supervise and monitor the work flow of assigned staff, prioritizing requests and ensuring delivery of service in accordance with departmental goals and client needs.
  • Provide clinical expertise, consultation, and leadership in evidence-based practice to staff and clients by reviewing literature, consulting with experts, and collaborating with the interdisciplinary team.
  • Assess, develop, and evaluate the skills and performance of staff by providing one-on-one coaching and instruction, and completing performance appraisals.
  • Recruit, interview, and select staff, and provide leadership by developing and implementing discipline-specific staff orientations and in-service education.
  • Implement and monitor operating budgets, and provide input into the purchase of equipment and supplies.
  • Develop and ensure the maintenance of policies, procedures, and quality improvement activities in collaboration with team members.
  • Develop, implement, evaluate, and revise education, orientation, and professional development programs for clinical staff and students.
  • Facilitate team-building and staff development by acting as a clinical role model and resource for the interdisciplinary team.
  • Participate and provide a leadership role in quality improvement and risk management activities by evaluating nursing practice, generating recommendations, and conducting safety audits.
  • Participate in research and special projects by collaborating with members of the interdisciplinary team and promoting staff awareness and involvement in research activities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing from an approved school of Nursing.
  • Five years' recent related clinical experience working in a community setting, including one year supervisory experience of multi-disciplinary staff.
  • Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
  • Valid BC Driver's License and access to a personal vehicle for business-related purposes.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Demonstrated ability to lead, plan, problem-solve, organize, and prioritize.
  • Sound professional judgment, empathy, tact, and integrity.
  • Demonstrated professional practice skills within designated discipline.
  • Ability to support staff using a case management model.
  • Thorough knowledge of discipline-specific therapeutic principles, practices, and procedures and their application to an in-home environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to supervise and effectively direct the workload of others.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Demonstrated ability to deal with others effectively.
  • Good working knowledge of pertinent legislation, policies, standards, and collective agreements.
  • Ability to operate related equipment.
  • Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
