About the Role

The Phoenix Centre for Children and Families is seeking a skilled Child and Youth Worker to join our team. As a Child and Youth Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting the well-being and development of children and youth in our care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Education and Training
    • Develop and implement educational programs that promote the cognitive, emotional, and social development of children and youth.
    • Collaborate with educators and other professionals to ensure a comprehensive approach to education and training.
  • Client Assessment and Support
    • Conduct thorough assessments of children and youth to identify their strengths, needs, and goals.
    • Develop and implement individualized support plans that address the unique needs of each child or youth.
  • Behavioral Support and Intervention
    • Provide behavioral support and intervention to children and youth who are experiencing behavioral challenges.
    • Develop and implement behavior management programs that promote positive behavior and reduce challenging behavior.
  • Community Linkage and Collaboration
    • Build and maintain relationships with community agencies, organizations, and professionals to ensure a comprehensive approach to supporting children and youth.
    • Collaborate with other professionals to ensure a coordinated and effective response to the needs of children and youth.
Requirements
  • Education
    • Diploma or degree in a related field, such as child and youth care, social work, or education.
  • Experience
    • Minimum 3 years of experience working with children and youth in a related field.
  • Skills and Abilities
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work effectively with children and youth of diverse backgrounds and needs.
    • Strong assessment and intervention skills.
    • Ability to work collaboratively with other professionals.
