St. Clement's School seeks a highly skilled and experienced Financial Operations Director to join their team.

About the Role

The Financial Operations Director will be responsible for leading the financial operations of the school, including accounting, finance, and purchasing.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in business and accounting management, with experience in managing teams and implementing financial systems.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing accounting and purchasing staff, including training, coaching, mentoring, and evaluation of staff
  • Responsible for the financial recording and reporting of the school's operations and financial position
  • Ensuring effective financial controls are in place through regular review and updating of controls, policies, and procedures
  • Overseeing the administration of cash disbursements, cash receipts, and school-generated funds
  • Preparing analysis, reconciliations, and journal entries, and coordinating the monthly/annual accounting close process

The successful candidate will also be responsible for:

  • Providing ongoing guidance, support, recommendations, and strategies to stakeholders on financial-related matters
  • Serving as the administrator and technical support liaison for the school's financial system
  • Recommending upgrades to financial systems and working with Information Technology staff in implementation, maintenance, and modifications

The salary for this role is estimated to be between $122,018 and $128,440 per year, depending on qualifications and experience.

Requirements

To be considered for this role, candidates must have:

  • A university degree in business administration, accounting, or finance
  • A professional accounting designation (CPA)
  • Five years of progressively responsible business and accounting management experience, preferably in the public sector
  • Strong leadership, mentoring, and team-building skills
  • Demonstrated proficiency in the use of financial software applications

The ideal candidate will be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
