Job Summary

As a Laundry Aide at Extendicare Canada Inc., you will play a vital role in maintaining a clean and safe environment for residents and staff. This part-time position requires a high level of attention to detail, physical stamina, and a commitment to delivering exceptional care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process all house linens, washing, drying, and placing them on carts for delivery to units.
  • Process residents' personal laundry, including washing and drying.
  • Continue processing other linens during the shift, such as isolation, dietary, and housekeeping linens as necessary.
  • Clean laundry equipment, including removing lint from dryers.
  • Label residents' personal clothing.
  • Adhere to established company policies and procedures regarding infection prevention and control, quality assurance, fire, and safety.
  • Participate in staff meetings, attend in-service education programs, and complete all mandatory education as assigned.
  • Collaborate with other departments in tasks such as ensuring residents' clothing items are delivered to the correct room, assisting in locating misplaced items, etc.
Requirements
  • Comfortable clothing and appropriate footwear (non-slip soles and enclosed) as you will be handling heavy lifting, reaching, squatting, kneeling, crouching, and exposure to biochemical agents and wet floors.
  • Ability to work safely, following established safety practices and procedures.
  • Criminal Reference Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening to be provided.
