Job Title: Merchandise Processing Team Member

About the Role:

Talize is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Merchandise Processing Team Member to join our team. As a key member of our warehouse operations, you will be responsible for ensuring that merchandise meets our company standards, sorting and grading items, and maintaining a safe and organized work environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct quality inspections of received merchandise to ensure it meets our quality standards.
  • Properly dispose of unsellable merchandise and sort items into designated bins.
  • Hang approved inspected garments on the correct hangers and organize them by category, size, and color.
  • Grade items according to established guidelines and attach price tags.
  • Move tagged items onto rolling racks and maintain a clean and organized workspace.
  • Ensure that the merchandise processing area is kept in accordance with company housekeeping standards.
  • Maintain a safe workplace by identifying and removing hazards and reporting them to management.
  • Practice safe lifting and handling of merchandise.

Requirements:

  • 1+ years of experience working in a retail warehouse environment.
  • Previous work in a thrift retail environment is considered an asset.
  • Ability to stand and walk for the duration of shift.
  • Constant bending, reaching, and using hands for repetitive actions.
  • Lifting and carrying items up to 50lbs without assistance.
  • Pushing and pulling merchandise containers on wheels weighing up to 500lbs.

Work Environment:

  • Exposure to dust throughout the shift.
  • Exposure to periodic temperature fluctuations and noise levels.
  • Work schedule hours will include days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Interaction with customers, clients, and the public at large.
