Farming Assistant Role

We are seeking a reliable and skilled Farming Assistant to join our team at Gwillimdale Farms Ltd. Your primary responsibility will be to assist in the day-to-day farming operations, ensuring the efficient management of our crops and equipment.

Responsibilities
  • Apply the technique of hoeing between rows to maintain crop health and growth.
  • Clear and collect brush and debris from fields, pens, and other work areas to maintain a safe and organized environment.
  • Clear fields of wood and stones to prepare the ground for planting.
  • Grade vegetables and fruits into different grades according to size, shape, color, and volume to maximize market value.
  • Pack fruits and vegetables for distribution and sale.
  • Weeding to control weeds and maintain crop health.
  • Clean work areas to maintain a safe and organized environment.
  • Harvest crops at the appropriate time to ensure optimal quality.
  • Operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment to ensure efficient and safe operations.
  • Examine products for quality and readiness for market.
Requirements
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Own transportation, as public transportation is not available.
Work Environment
  • Outdoor work in varying weather conditions.
  • Physically demanding work, including repetitive tasks, handling heavy loads, and standing for extended periods.
