Job Summary

The University of British Columbia is seeking a detail-oriented and dynamic Development Coordinator to join our team and support fundraising efforts for the Sauder School of Business. This role will provide program implementation and coordination to development programs, ensuring the delivery of programs and services designed to facilitate a lifelong relationship with UBC donors, alumni, and students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the development and implementation of new unit initiatives that advance UBC's strategic plan
  • Ensure appropriate donor recognition, acknowledgement, and stewardship programs are in place
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding and expert use of the University's donor and alumni database
  • Participate in ongoing fundraising planning and practice and process development
  • Write donor/prospect solicitation materials and correspondence
  • Research and draft fundraising proposals for senior management for presentation to donors
  • Develop unit analytical reports as requested by manager
  • Ensure processing of donor gifts, pledges, and receipts
  • Develop and maintain processes and procedures as needed
  • Accommodate flexible hours, attending events
Requirements
  • Willingness to respect diverse perspectives, including perspectives in conflict with one's own
  • Demonstrates a commitment to enhancing one's own awareness, knowledge, and skills related to equity, diversity, and inclusion
  • Undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline or an equivalent combination of experience or education in a related discipline
  • Minimum of one year experience or the equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills
  • Effective computer skills
  • Proven ability to interact effectively and positively with staff, managers, and donors
