Job Summary

Safewatch Live Monitoring Inc is seeking a highly skilled Computer Network Technician to join our team. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our computer networks and systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Network Administration: Coordinate access and use of computer networks, install software, and maintain, troubleshoot, and administer the use of local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), mainframe networks, and computer workstations and peripheral equipment.
  • System Monitoring: Monitor the performance of computer systems and networks, and troubleshoot, maintain, and upgrade web server hardware and software.
  • Security and Compliance: Evaluate and install computer hardware, networking software, and operating system software, and implement data, software, and hardware security procedures.
  • Technical Support: Provide problem-solving services to network users, perform routine network start up and close down, and maintain control records.
  • Disaster Recovery: Perform data backups and disaster recovery operations, and set up local area networks and connections to the Internet.
  • Optimization and Improvement: Implement network traffic and security monitoring software, and optimize server performance, modify Web pages, applets, and scripts, and research and apply meta-data to Websites and register Websites with search engines.
  • Leadership and Collaboration: Supervise technical staff and respond to requests for help and information from Website visitors and Website designers.
Requirements
  • Education: College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 3 months to less than 1 year.
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years.
  • Work Language: English.
  • Hours: 40 hours per week.
