Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Laboratory Technologist to join our team in the Microbiology department at Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital. As a Laboratory Specialist, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality laboratory services and contributing to the delivery of excellent patient care.

Responsibilities
  • Perform routine and complex tests using manual procedures and automated instruments.
  • Enter data into the Lab Information System (LIS) and related systems.
  • Validate and report test results.
  • Maintain instruments, prepare solutions, and control agents.
  • Contribute to training, evaluation, and improvement programs.
Requirements
  • Graduation from an approved Medical Laboratory Science Program.
  • Current certification with the Canadian Society for Medical Laboratory Science (CSMLS) and eligibility for membership with the BCSLS and/or CSMLS.
  • One year recent experience in a related field.
