Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a 911 Emergency Support Specialist. This role is responsible for providing critical support to our emergency services personnel and the public.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide first point of contact for emergency calls and initiate appropriate response.
  • Receive, assess, and prioritize complaints and dispatch emergency services personnel.
  • Operate multi-line telephone system and computer monitoring systems.
  • Efficiently operate computer-aided dispatch systems and digital/analog radio systems.
  • Complete audio recordings and typing of legal documents.
  • Provide administrative support to emergency services personnel.
  • Perform other related duties as required.
Requirements
  • Post-secondary certificate or diploma in 911 Emergency and Call Centre Communications or related field.
  • Strong administrative and computer skills.
  • Ability to adjust quickly to changing situations and priorities.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment with multiple priorities.
  • Knowledge of Federal, Provincial, and Municipal statutes.
  • Working knowledge of geography, jurisdictional boundaries, and civic addressing.
Working Conditions

This role requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and deadlines. The successful candidate must be able to work independently and as part of a team.
