Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Academic Chair to lead the School of Trades and Transportation at Ivany Campus. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality programs, managing resources, and fostering a culture of innovation and equity.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the delivery of NSCC programs at Ivany Campus, ensuring quality and consistency in programming while supporting student success.
  • Provide strategic and operational leadership to ensure program objectives are met through efficient management of fiscal and human resources.
  • Develop and implement innovative approaches to maximize NSCC assets and increase training opportunities through multiple program delivery modes.
  • Collaborate with campus and school teams to build and nurture a culture of innovation, equity, and safety for students and employees.
  • Utilize established relationships in related sectors to inform programming and opportunities for students.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 7 years of recent and progressive occupational experience in a field related to the School of Trades and Transportation.
  • Minimum of 5 years in a formal supervisory, management, or leadership role.
  • Experience in formal teaching at a post-secondary level.
  • Occupational experience that includes community and industry engagement.
  • Experience leading or contributing to programs and/or initiatives that foster equity and inclusion.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a digital environment and adapt to advancing technology.
  • Experience in training and facilitation preparation, delivery, and evaluation.
