We are a specialized third-party pension and benefit plan administrator, delivering exceptional member service and precise plan administration to our clients.

Our team of professionals is dedicated to ensuring that plan members understand the benefits negotiated on their behalf.

This senior position will oversee the administration of various multi-employer pension and benefit plans, mentor junior administrators, and ensure accurate data and calculations are delivered while meeting all regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Peer review pension calculations for multiple target benefit, defined benefit, and defined contribution plans.
  • Primary peer review on calculations for several clients.
  • Provide expert guidance and peer review on FLA calculations for all clients.
  • Peer review and guidance on complex, large amount, and special case calculations.
  • Create templates for various calculations and update them as needed.
  • Assist in preparation of annual filings.
  • Draft member communications from time to time.
  • Meet with members in person or virtually and respond to inquiries and discuss options and answer questions.
  • Assist with plan member calls as needed.
  • Review and draft member correspondence.
  • Identify opportunities for process efficiencies across all plans.

Leadership and Collaboration:

  • Lead plan administrators for the plans, identifying training needs, resourcing needs, mentorship, and performance management.
  • Collaborate with management to develop staff and identify opportunities for business improvement.
  • Cultivate relationships within the pension industry to support business development.
  • Provide backup to Team Leads.

Special Projects and Training:

  • Coordinate with teams on projects related to wind-ups, missing member searches, and new client implementation.
  • Train teams as required on matters related to legislative changes and plan document changes.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary education or formal training in actuarial work.
  • At least 5 years' previous experience in the actuarial or pension consulting field, or completion of some actuarial exams.

Competencies and Abilities:

  • Familiarity with pension legislation, including the Family Law Act and Pension Benefits Standards Act.
  • Strong organizational skills to effectively prioritize workload and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent mathematical abilities with the ability to explain complex calculations.
  • Effective interpersonal and organizational skills, maintaining effective working relationships.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with tact and discretion.
  • Intermediate skills using Microsoft Office Suite and related databases.
