Aquatic Instructor/Lifeguard Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Aquatic Instructor/Lifeguard to join our team at the Toronto District School Board. As an Aquatic Instructor/Lifeguard, you will be responsible for providing high-quality instruction and supervision in aquatic programs for students of various ages and abilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement aquatic programs for students, including lesson plans and assessments
  • Provide instruction and supervision in pools and classrooms, including individual assessment and assistance with supervision of health and physical education aquatic classes as required
  • Perform maintenance and safety checks of the pool area
  • Perform administrative duties, including reporting and assessment of students
  • Adapt and modify programs as needed and set realistic goals for students with special needs
  • Assist students in and out of the water, and may assist with dressing and undressing students (Special Education programs only)

Requirements:

  • Secondary school diploma plus required Aquatic Certification
  • Minimum three months related experience instructing Secondary or Elementary school aged children, or minimum one year of related experience instructing children with special needs

Compensation:

Hourly rates of pay: $20.02 (Supply Elementary Instructor/Lifeguard), $19.01 (Supply Secondary Instructor/Lifeguard), $21.30 (Supply Aquatic Instructor – Developmental Disability Program), $27.69 (Temporary Elementary Instructor/Lifeguard), $26.34 (Temporary Secondary Instructor/Lifeguard), $29.40 (Aquatic Instructor – Developmental Disability Program)

3.4% statutory holiday pay and 4% vacation pay are added to these rates

Schedule: up to 7 hours per day between 8:00 am and 4:30 pm
