INVISTA Canada's Kingston nylon manufacturing site is seeking an experienced Industrial Power Systems Engineer to join our Integrated Engineering Team.

We offer a unique opportunity to grow your skills and career in a diverse facility with a wide range of power systems equipment. Our team is responsible for the overall site-wide distribution and reliability of power to ensure our site operations are functional at all times.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct power distribution system short circuit protection and coordination studies
  • Perform arc flash studies
  • Develop and evaluate technical design solutions for existing equipment or new capital installations
  • Improve the reliability of our power distribution systems and related site electrical equipment
  • Integrate best technologies into predictive and preventative maintenance programs

Areas of Focus:

  • Plant electrical distribution systems
  • Motor/drive systems
  • Industrial Electrical Control systems

Requirements:

  • Master's Degree in Power Systems Engineering or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with three or more years of post-education professional/industrial experience
  • Knowledge or experience in power distribution systems up to 44kV
  • Knowledge of electrical protection and control systems

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge and application of the Canadian Electrical Code and the Workplace Electrical Safety Standard, CSA Z
  • Project leadership and execution skills
  • Professional Engineer (PEO) designation
