Payroll Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Payroll Specialist to join our team at Vaco. As a key member of our Human Resources department, you will be responsible for processing payroll, ensuring databases are up-to-date, and providing exceptional customer service to our employees and management.
Key Responsibilities- Process payroll by collecting, calculating, and entering data and deductions into the payroll system.
- Ensure databases are updated and reflect the current employee base, salaries, hourly wages, benefits, and pension percentages.
- Liaise with team members to gather information on hours worked for employees.
- Calculate and process overtime, commissions, bonuses, and other additional earnings.
- Administer and manage employee benefits (group benefits, pension plan) and other remittances, as required.
- Address issues and questions regarding payroll from employees and management.
- Prepare reports for management, Human Resources, and Accounting.
- Process and monitor garnishment orders.
- Prepare year-end employee tax slips or forms, including all reconciliations, and submit filings to all government agencies to meet deadlines.
- Maintain confidential information by adhering to legal and ethical standards.
- Assist the Accounting team with payroll-related matters, including payroll general ledger entries and audit activities.
We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Payroll Specialist who has a proven track record of success in payroll, specifically with Ceridian Dayforce. You will have a strong proficiency in MS Excel and MS Office Suite, a degree in accounting or a related financial field, and a solid understanding of accounting fundamentals and payroll best practices.
You will also have excellent oral and written communication skills, be trustworthy with attention to confidentiality, and have outstanding organizational ability with great attention to detail.
Requirements- Proven experience in payroll, specifically with Ceridian Dayforce.
- Strong proficiency in MS Excel and MS Office Suite.
- Degree in accounting or a related financial field.
- Solid understanding of accounting fundamentals and payroll best practices.
- Very good knowledge of Canada-wide payroll-related legislation and regulations.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Trustworthy with attention to confidentiality.
- Outstanding organizational ability with great attention to detail.
