About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Stores Clerk to join our team at Nova Scotia Health Authority. As a key member of our Supply Chain Logistics team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient and effective management of inventories and supplies across our Northern Nova Scotia facilities.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Manage and coordinate the receipt, storage, and distribution of supplies and inventories
  • Assist in the organization and maintenance of warehouse spaces, including supply closets and inventory areas
  • Operate and maintain warehouse equipment, such as electric pallet jacks and manual pallet jacks
  • Process and fulfill orders, including picking, packing, and shipping
  • Receive and put away incoming shipments, ensuring accurate inventory tracking and storage
  • Perform cycle counts and other inventory management tasks as required
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless supply chain operations

**Requirements:**

  • Grade 12 or equivalent
  • Working knowledge and proficiency with a variety of computer software and programs
  • Demonstrated planning, organizational, priority setting skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work in a self-directed environment and effectively within an interdisciplinary team
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills as well as leadership skills
  • Working knowledge of the SAP computer system is preferred
  • Previous experience in a central stores/purchasing environment preferred
  • Knowledge of inventory control preferred
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of and current relevant experience with Microsoft Office
  • Demonstrated understanding of the role of Materials Management Service in the delivery of patient care and understanding of how errors may affect medical treatment and cause financial loss
