About the Role

We are looking for a highly skilled Risk Management Specialist to support the execution of governance frameworks and risk appetite for RBC's U.S. operations. As a key member of our Group Risk Management team, you will play a critical role in providing oversight and guidance to our lines of business and oversight functions.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Assist in developing and updating the Combined US Operations (CUSO) Risk Management Framework
  • Maintain annual updates of CUSO Risk Appetite Statements/Measures (RAS/RAMs)
  • Develop and maintain relationships with legal entity and risk type partners
  • Deliver risk appetite updates and results to the management team as required
  • Perform review and challenge of proposals from the first line of defense
  • Provide guidance on risk appetite measures to the second line of defense
  • Lead the development of a system of record for the risk appetite program
  • Assist in developing a system of record for the risk appetite program
  • Prepare presentations for management and board committees
  • Assist with meeting minutes and documentation requirements
  • Quarterly reporting of risk appetite results to management and board committees
  • Draft materials for quarterly meetings with US regulators and assist with coverage of regulatory exams and requests for information
  • Maintain risk appetite supporting documentation files
  • Provide guidance and share information across US subsidiaries to ensure alignment and best practices

About You

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Law, or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience working in a risk management role in a financial services organization
  • General knowledge of key risk disciplines, including enterprise, market, counterparty credit, liquidity risk, and operational risk
  • Working knowledge of Tableau and Python, with prioritization given to prior experience within risk or product control
  • Prior work developing processes and controls related to Heightened Standards or Reg YY
  • Experience managing projects and initiatives for multiple stakeholders
  • A master's degree in Business, Finance, Law, or a related field, or risk management certification is preferred

Estimated Salary: $120,000 - $180,000 per year, based on location and experience.
