Job SummaryWe are seeking an experienced Data Virtualization Engineer to join our team in Toronto, Canada. As a Data Virtualization Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing data virtualization solutions using Dremio.
About the RoleThe successful candidate will have a strong background in data engineering, with a minimum of 5 years of experience in Dremio or similar virtualization products. They will be able to work independently, apply critical and strategic thinking to issues, and manage deadlines while multitasking amongst different priorities.
Requirements- Strong knowledge of Data Fabric and Data Virtualization concepts
- 5 years of experience in Dremio or any other virtualization products (e.g., Starburst Trino, Denodo)
- Ability to work independently, apply critical and strategic thinking to issues, and manage deadlines while multitasking amongst different priorities
- 8 years of experience working as a Developer L3 in Data engineering field handling large data volumes
- Proven experience in databases, SQL query tuning, and ability to read, analyze execution plans, debug logs
- Understanding of different infrastructures (physical servers, containers, virtual machines, cloud)
- Tech expertise: Dremio, SQL, Python, REST API, Hive, HDFS, Kubernetes, ZooKeeper, Linux Shell, YAML
- Nice to Have: Knowledge of distributed storage (e.g., S3, HDFS, SAN, NAS), exposure to Azure cloud and its services, experience of working with Capital Markets division of a multinational bank or a Consulting firm focusing on similar clients
- Estimated salary range: $120,000 - $180,000 per year, depending on experience
