About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Manager, Customer Insights Leader to contribute to the overall success of Canadian Banking. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring specific individual goals, plans, and initiatives are executed/delivered in support of the Bank's business strategies and objectives.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in business intelligence and data analytics, with experience in working with large data sets and developing insights to support business initiatives. You will be responsible for delivering business intelligence and data analytics in support of Sale Channels, Customer Performance, and Customer Profitability.

Key Responsibilities
  • Business Intelligence and Data Analytics
    • Develop and maintain business intelligence and data analytics solutions to support business initiatives.
    • Work with stakeholders to identify business needs and develop insights to support decision-making.
    • Collaborate with business teams to draw insights from key customer and financial data to establish trends, understand history, and provide recommendations on Digital/other Channel Performance.
  • Strategic Support
    • Consult as a subject matter expert in Retail Banking Strategy/Customer initiatives and business cases with stakeholders, with insight on impacts to channel/customer performance.
    • Support and interact with the Canadian Banking CFO and other Retail Business Leaders in identifying drivers, solving concerns, and summarizing and providing commentary/recommendations on channel/customer performance across products.
  • Analytics Solutions and Dashboards
    • Create and showcase analytics solutions and dashboards to help team and business partners to gain insight, build business cases, and make fact-based decisions.
  • Reporting and Analysis
    • Provide dynamic reporting and analysis on key performance metrics to various stakeholders in retail, small business, product lines, channels, and other strategic groups.
  • Product Costing and Analysis
    • Review and support product costing process and methodology by examining and understanding the methodology of the costing system as it relates to Canadian Banking products.
  • Strategic Analysis
    • Provide strategic analysis that will assist the business to optimize existing accounts and product mix from various channels.
  • Project Management
    • Effectively manage and prioritize multiple business initiatives, projects, and ad-hoc analysis with business stakeholders.
  • Risk Management
    • Understand how the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
  • Operational Excellence
    • Actively pursue effective and efficient operations of their respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank's Values, its Code of Conduct, and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions, and conduct risk.

Requirements
  • Experience
    • 5+ years of experience in some or all of: Banking, Reporting, Analytics and Strategy, Finance.
  • Skills
    • Experience in working with and manipulating large data sets.
    • Very strong skills in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
    • Ability to be proactive with strong presentation and written communication skills.
    • Strong facilitation skills with proven accomplishments leading cross-functional teams.
    • Flexibility to adapt to a wide variety of tasks & functions with changing demands.
