About the Role

The Health Support Aide is a vital member of the Pathology & Laboratory Medicine team, responsible for assisting with daily routines of care and supporting patients/clients with activities of daily living.

The role involves swabbing patients for COVID-19 and other support functions under the guidance and direction of licensed healthcare professionals.

About You

We are looking for individuals with the following qualifications:

  • Grade 12
  • Previous related experience or education is an asset
  • Knowledge of infection control procedures is an asset
  • Current BCLS
  • Non-violent Crisis Intervention is preferred
  • Relevant first aid, first responder training such as St. John Ambulance course or HS lifeguard certificate is an asset
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to deal with patients/clients, hospital staff, public and referral sources
  • Competencies in other languages are an asset, French preferred

Hours and Compensation

This is a Permanent, Part-Time position with 52.5 hours bi-weekly.

The hourly rate is $19.26-$20.02.
