As a Senior Mechanical Engineer with Hatch Global Search, you will lead mechanical projects, develop design strategies, and mentor junior engineers in London, Kingston, or Kitchener, Ontario. You will oversee mechanical projects, provide technical leadership, and ensure high-quality results.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Evaluating and approving complex mechanical projects
  2. Developing and implementing design strategies and concepts
  3. Mentoring intermediate and junior engineers to enhance their skills and knowledge
  4. Conducting audits, feasibility assessments, and investigations to identify areas for improvement
  5. Establishing and maintaining mechanical design standards and best practices
  6. Troubleshooting construction issues to minimize delays and costs
  7. Collaborating with clients, contractors, and other engineering disciplines to ensure successful project outcomes
  8. Providing site visits and construction phase services to ensure compliance with regulations and industry standards
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  1. Over 10 years of experience in building services mechanical engineering
  2. An engineering license in Ontario, with at least 5 years of Canadian experience
  3. Demonstrated experience in designing central plant systems, including hot water, steam, and chilled water
  4. Knowledge of DDC control systems and sequencing principles
  5. Familiarity with OBC, ASHRAE, CSA, and ASPE standards and guidelines
  6. Experience working in multiple industries, such as commercial, industrial, educational, and healthcare
  7. Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
  8. Ability to multitask and work under tight deadlines
