About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Android Software Engineer to join our team at Moneris. As a key member of our software development team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining complex software systems for our mobile applications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze business requirements to determine the best solution and lead moderately sized or complex software systems.
  • Participate in the architecture, design, and implementation of software systems, ensuring adherence to software development best practices.
  • Develop solutions that operate key platforms powering our business, working closely with users to understand domain requirements.
  • Conduct product reviews to ensure functionality meets future user/client requirements and conceive new features for user and performance improvement.
  • Mentor junior members and perform peer code reviews.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or at least 6 years of experience in software development or business intelligence environments.
  • 3+ years' hands-on Java, React Native experience in Android mobile application development, with Kotlin as an asset.
  • Ability to navigate through C/C++ code and adjust it as necessary to suit new requirements/bug fixes.
  • Experience in all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and practical experience working within an Agile methodology (Scrum/Kanban).
  • Fluency in Jira/Confluence, with an advanced user level.
  • Proficiency in payment systems and merchant acquiring business, an asset.
