Company Overview:
Our client, a growing business in Downtown Calgary, is seeking an experienced compensation professional to join their team at RECRUITMENT PARTNERS INC.

About the Role:
As a Senior Compensation Specialist, you will be responsible for performing full-cycle payroll for a workforce split between salary and hourly employees. Your tasks will include handling payroll for unionized and non-unionized employees, dealing with multiple union agreements in Ontario and Quebec. You will also administer payroll for roughly 100 eastern employees and collaborate with and cross-train on Dayforce implementation, working closely with the Payroll Specialist leading the project. Additionally, you will provide benefits administration support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform full-cycle payroll processing, including new hire setup, terminations, benefits deductions, garnishments, and ROEs
  • Handle payroll for unionized and non-unionized employees, dealing with multiple union agreements in Ontario and Quebec
  • Administer payroll for roughly 100 eastern employees
  • Collaborate with and cross-train on Dayforce implementation, working closely with the Payroll Specialist leading the project
  • Provide benefits administration support

Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you will need 2+ years of experience with full-cycle payroll processing, including new hire setup, terminations, benefits deductions, garnishments, and ROEs. Union payroll experience is essential for managing multiple union agreements. Proficiency in Dayforce payroll software is required, as well as knowledge of provincial payroll regulations in Ontario and Quebec. Expertise in payroll reconciliations, tax remittances, and year-end processes, including issuing T4s and RL-1 slips, is also necessary. Furthermore, you should have proven ability to manage multi-jurisdictional payrolls, handling complex union and non-union environments.

Compensation:
We offer a competitive salary range of $65,000-$80,000 per annum, depending on your experience and qualifications.
