The Director of Operations - Canada is a key leadership position within Dover Corporation, responsible for overseeing the strategic operational functions of Transchem Inc. in Canada. This role plays a critical part in the success of the business, leading initiatives that champion operational process improvements, optimize business operations, reduce costs, and increase profitability.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Strategic Guidance: Provide strategic operational guidance to the Ontario chemical manufacturing facility, Ontario equipment service and manufacturing, and Alberta field operations and warehouse.
  • Manufacturing Excellence: Implement and sustain manufacturing technologies that continuously improve operational excellence and model a safety culture.
  • Supply Chain Management: Oversee and lead all supply chain activities and provide guidance to the R&D team.
  • Performance Improvement: Set and execute goals to improve productivity, capacity utilization, delivery performance, and resource utilization.
  • Employee Engagement: Champion employee engagement actions to support and sustain positive employee relations across operational teams.
  • Leadership Development: Exhibit strong leadership skills to effectively mentor, develop, and lead employees.
  • Compliance and Governance: Be accountable for compliance in assigned areas through collaboration with teams to coordinate company policies and procedures.
  • Operational Oversight: Monitor work and evaluate results to ensure that the organization's objectives and operating requirements are met to support Transchem's vision and values.

  • Facility Management: Oversee management of all company-owned facilities.

Requirements
  • Leadership Experience: Minimum 10 years of operational and manufacturing experience in a leadership capacity.
  • Education: Post-secondary education related to Operations, Engineering, Business, or a related field is required.
  • Manufacturing Expertise: High level of manufacturing expertise with direct experience leading Lean and Continuous Improvement initiatives.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge of chemical manufacturing, field installation service, and experience directing and performing in-depth manufacturing planning, workforce planning, analysis, and implementation.
  • Travel Requirements: 10-15% domestic and international travel, with flexibility to travel quarterly to Calgary, Alberta.
