About the Role

As a Cloud Platform Developer within IBM Client Engineering, you will play a key role in delivering unique client co-creation experiences to accelerate their digital transformation. You will be involved in all aspects of integrated solutions, from identifying requirements to making technical decisions that impact the business case.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Leverage contemporary hybrid cloud skills (e.g., AI, analytics, DevOps, DevSecOps, Infrastructure as Code, automation, security, networking, and storage) with deep industry expertise and an understanding of your clients' businesses.
  2. Define and communicate the unique value of IBM's technology, both technically and commercially.
  3. Participate in client sessions that include a range of public and hybrid cloud technologies, such as Red Hat OpenShift, IBM Cloud Paks, and Kubernetes.
  4. Support the solutions architecture plan and be a hands-on "builder" during client-facing engagements.
  5. Advise on solution architecture to align with platform best practices, with a focus on our clients' target environment to ease transition to deployment.
  6. Work with deployment teams to transition platform assets and information to provide seamless transitions for our clients.
Requirements
  1. Hands-on experience with a wide range of cloud and AI technologies.
  2. Practical knowledge and direct experience with virtualized on-premise and cloud-based computing platforms.
  3. Experience in building application and infrastructure deployment automation workflows.
  4. Proven track record in participating in customer-facing technical solutions teams across various cloud architectures.
  5. Technical experience in a cloud-related domain such as Data/Analytics, Data Science, Security, or other cloud-native, hybrid, or public-cloud technology.
  6. Understanding and practical application of Agile best practices.
  7. Proficient in at least one common cloud native programming language (Java, Python, HCL, Rust, Ansible, etc.)
Preferred Qualifications
  1. At least 1 year in a technical operations role, such as site reliability or platform engineering, in hybrid-cloud and on-premise environments.
  2. Experience in deploying and operating solutions on AWS, Azure, IBM Cloud, or Google Cloud.
  3. Experience as a Solution Architect or in a public cloud consultant role.
  4. Experience in developing collaborative client relationships at all levels within organizations.
  5. Knowledge of Well-Architected Frameworks from AWS, Azure, IBM Cloud, or Google Cloud.
  6. Relevant technical certifications (e.g., CNCF, AWS, IBM Cloud, Azure, Google Cloud, DevOps).
  7. Experience working in dynamic team environments and cross-functionally with teams such as Product Management, Engineering, and Customer Success.
  8. Bilingualism Preferred but not required for Toronto based (English/French).
