About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Platform Developer to join our Client Engineering team at IBM Computing. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in delivering innovative client co-creation experiences that accelerate digital transformation.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Cloud Architecture: Leverage your expertise in contemporary hybrid cloud skills, including AI, analytics, DevOps, DevSecOps, Infrastructure as Code, automation, security, networking, and storage, to design and implement scalable cloud solutions.
  2. Solution Architecture: Define and communicate the unique value of IBM's technology, both technically and commercially, to clients and internal stakeholders.
  3. Client Engagement: Participate in client sessions that include a range of public and hybrid cloud technologies, such as Red Hat OpenShift, IBM Cloud Paks, and Kubernetes, to deliver tailored solutions that meet client needs.
  4. Technical Leadership: Support the solutions architecture plan and provide hands-on technical expertise during client-facing engagements, ensuring seamless transitions for clients.
  5. Collaboration: Work closely with deployment teams to transition platform assets and information, providing expert guidance on solution architecture to align with platform best practices.
Requirements
  1. Cloud Expertise: Hands-on experience with a wide range of cloud and AI technologies, including virtualized on-premise and cloud-based computing platforms.
  2. Automation and Deployment: Practical knowledge and direct experience with building application and infrastructure deployment automation workflows.
  3. Customer-Facing Experience: Proven track record in participating in customer-facing technical solutions teams across various cloud architectures.
  4. Cloud-Native Programming: Proficient in at least one common cloud native programming language (Java, Python, HCL, Rust, Ansible, etc.).
Preferred Qualifications
  1. Technical Operations: At least 1 year in a technical operations role, such as site reliability or platform engineering, in hybrid-cloud and on-premise environments.
  2. Cloud Deployment: Experience in deploying and operating solutions on AWS, Azure, IBM Cloud, or Google Cloud.
  3. Solution Architecture: Experience as a Solution Architect or in a public cloud consultant role.
  4. Collaboration: Experience working in dynamic team environments and cross-functionally with teams such as Product Management, Engineering, and Customer Success.
