About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled Trust Accountant to join our team at AGF Investments. As a key member of our Trust Accounting Team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial records.
Your Responsibilities:
- Maintain and analyze general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Perform daily reconciliation of bank accounts to identify and resolve any discrepancies or issues.
- Communicate effectively with various banks and financial institutions to resolve outstanding reconciliation items and ensure timely resolution.
- Assist in the preparation of cap stock reports, manual cheques, and online payments, as well as perform dealer commission reconciliation and other related tasks.
- Collaborate with fund managers, fund accounting, and custodians to ensure seamless daily activities and problem resolution.
- Validate the accuracy of monthly/quarterly reports generated for trailing commission and provide timely feedback to management.
- Support the department in completing various special projects and user acceptance testing.
- Provide supervisors and managers with necessary and timely management information to inform decision-making.
- Ensure the timely and accurate completion of all department deliverables.
- Provide backup support to other team members as needed and liaise with internal and external customers to resolve issues and concerns.
- Escalate items that require management attention in a timely manner and assist management in completing special projects.
Your Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or equivalent experience.
- Prior work experience in Accounting is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of bank reconciliation and Microsoft Office.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
