About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled Trust Accountant to join our team at AGF Investments. As a key member of our Trust Accounting Team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial records.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and analyze general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Perform daily reconciliation of bank accounts to identify and resolve any discrepancies or issues.
  • Communicate effectively with various banks and financial institutions to resolve outstanding reconciliation items and ensure timely resolution.
  • Assist in the preparation of cap stock reports, manual cheques, and online payments, as well as perform dealer commission reconciliation and other related tasks.
  • Collaborate with fund managers, fund accounting, and custodians to ensure seamless daily activities and problem resolution.
  • Validate the accuracy of monthly/quarterly reports generated for trailing commission and provide timely feedback to management.
  • Support the department in completing various special projects and perform user acceptance testing as required.
  • Provide supervisors and managers with necessary and timely management information to inform decision-making.
  • Ensure the timely and accurate completion of all department deliverables and provide backup support to team members as needed.
  • Liaise with internal and external customers to resolve issues and concerns in a professional and timely manner.
  • Escalate items that require management attention in a timely and effective manner.

Your Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or equivalent experience.
  • Prior work experience in Accounting is preferred, but not required.
  • Strong knowledge of bank reconciliation and financial analysis.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Strong planning and organization skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to identify and resolve complex financial issues.
  • Teamwork and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues and external partners.
  • Ethical standards and a commitment to acting with integrity.
