Hamilton Health Sciences is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Skin Wound and Ostomy Nurse Clinician to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing expert care to patients with skin, wound, and ostomy issues.
Job Summary:The Skin Wound and Ostomy Nurse Clinician will apply advanced knowledge of the integumentary, wound, ostomy, and continence systems to provide comprehensive care to patients. This includes assessing skin, wound, incontinence, and ostomy issues, developing plans of care, and educating patients and families on skin, wound, and ostomy care.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide advanced assessment and care to patients with skin, wound, and ostomy issues
- Develop and implement plans of care in conjunction with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams
- Teach, counsel, and advise patients and families on skin, wound, and ostomy care
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to promote best practices in skin, wound, and ostomy care
- Participate in the development of corporate skin, wound, and ostomy programs
- Baccalaureate level Nursing degree required
- Current Certificate as a Registered Nurse with the College of Nurses of Ontario
- Certified Nurse Specialized in Skin Wound and Ostomy (NSWOC) or equivalent program recognized through The Canadian Association of Enterostomal Therapy
- International Interprofessional Wound Care Course certification an asset
- 3-5 years of recent experience in Nursing
- Experience with the management of burn patients is an asset
- Experience with the pediatric population is an asset
- Commitment to ongoing professional development with demonstrated proof of continuing education
