Join Macdonald Mighty Movers as a skilled Moving Truck Driver and contribute to the success of our team. As a key member of our logistics team, you will be responsible for transporting goods and materials safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:- Plan and Adjust Routes: Use computer equipment, GPS, and other navigation devices to optimize routes and minimize fuel consumption and carbon emissions.
- Mountain Driving Expertise: Demonstrate expertise in driving in mountainous terrain.
- Customer Service: Provide professional and courteous service to customers.
- Loading and Unloading: Load and unload goods safely and efficiently.
- Vehicle Operation: Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials.
- Vehicle Maintenance: Inspect and maintain the condition of the vehicle, including tires, lights, brakes, and cold storage.
- Payment and Receipt: Process payments for goods and receive payments from customers.
- Preventive Maintenance: Perform regular maintenance tasks to ensure the vehicle is in good working condition.
- Communication: Relay information to central dispatch and receive information from customers.
- Cargo Security: Ensure the safety and security of cargo during transportation.
- Driver's License: Possess a valid Class 3 or D driver's license.
- Documentation Knowledge: Familiarity with accident reports, bills of lading, driver logbooks, inspection reports, maintenance reports, and trip reports.
- Green Job: Contribute to positive environmental outcomes through efficient transportation practices.
- Support for Newcomers and Refugees: Assist in the social and labor market integration of newcomers and refugees.
- Support for Youths: Provide on-the-job training tailored to youth.
- Support for Veterans: Recruit and support veterans through targeted hiring initiatives.
- Support for Indigenous People: Facilitate access to Elders for support and guidance.
- Support for Mature Workers: Apply hiring policies that discourage age discrimination.
- Support for Visible Minorities: Apply hiring policies that discourage discrimination against visible minorities.
