Job Description

The Hospital for Sick Children is seeking a highly skilled Pediatric Medicine Specialist to join our team of dedicated professionals.

About the Job

This permanent, full-time position involves working as a staff physician in a hospital setting, providing exceptional care to patients and their families.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct medical research on human disorders, illnesses, preventive or curative methods, and develop evidence-based treatments
  • Prescribe medication and treatment plans, referring patients for surgery when necessary
  • Treat diseases and physiological disorders, working closely with other healthcare professionals
  • Prepare and present research papers for publication and presentation at national and international conferences
  • Study the nature, cause, and development of diseases, and the structural and functional changes caused by them
  • Act as consultants to other physicians, providing expert advice and guidance
  • Order laboratory tests, X-rays, and other diagnostic procedures, interpreting results to inform treatment decisions
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A degree in medicine from a recognized institution
  • Licensure by provincial or territorial authorities
  • Certification from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada Examination
  • 5+ years of experience in pediatric medicine
