High Voltage Transmission Expert

Job Overview:
Phasor Engineering Inc., a dynamic consulting firm specializing in transmission/distribution systems, substations, and fibre optics, is seeking an experienced High Voltage Transmission Expert. This role can be based out of our Kelowna office.

Responsibilities:
- Assist in designing overhead and underground power delivery systems by creating detailed scopes and estimates, performing calculations, developing design drawings following applicable utility, national or international standards and codes.
- Interact with internal/external contacts for design details.
- Experience with Quickpole, SpidaCalc, or PLS CADD is required.
- Familiarity with aerial communications line & poles inspections or design using CSA 22.3 No. 1-20 Overhead Systems and O.Reg. 22/04 guidelines.
- Awareness of permitting processes (highway, railroad, city, county, etc.) is highly desired.
- Collect, interpret, and organize project engineering and vendor data.
- Interface with senior personnel to resolve potential technical and project issues.
- Compile and maintain internal engineering standards and work practices.
- Coordinate with other business units to verify project design requirements and delivery schedule.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Civil Engineering with a minimum of five years' related experience and broad knowledge of electrical distribution systems.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office software suite.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills and attention to detail are essential.
- Able to work effectively independently and as part of a team.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Fortis Distribution Standards is preferred.
- Previous experience with drafting software such as Quickpole, SpidaCalc, PLS CAD is required.
